Self-taught painter living in the Basque country for twenty years, Erika Sellier devotes part of her work to the ancient technique of art mounted under glass. Totally neglected these days as an art that's demanding and difficult to implement, this technique is unusual and stands well differentiated from all other techniques such as porcelain. It requires the artist to paint the scene, beginning with the infinitely small details to finish by the bottom. This process condemns any editing.

Fascinated, she applied this art to sculpture, decorative panels, tables, jewelry as well as tableware and enjoys exhibiting to the public in original and unique ways.

For the Quiksilver trophies, the bracket body is made of three layers of glass fused together by thermoforming, then painted and baked.

Erika Sellier has her workshop in ASCAIN where you can come to see her work by appointment, call 06.11.40.33.40
