Roxy has created an innovative event, which unites for the first time the world's best women surfers and longboarders: The ROXY PRO in Biarritz July 11th-17th July 2011.

The Roxy Jam Biarritz 2010 concluded today on a high note. This unique festival blending surfing, art and music has seen an average attendance of 5,000 people per day frequenting the Côte des Basques. In total, an estimated 25,000 people made up the confluence of spectators who converged on the site

The opening day of the Roxy ASP Women's World Longboard Championships rolled through intense action as Round 1 was completed in excellent wave conditions, witnessing the elimination of sixteen of the world's best female longboarders.

The 5th edition of this unique festival of surfing, art and live music will as usual be playing host to the world's very best women longboarders, as they compete to win the prestigious ASP Women's World Longboard Championships.

This project is the fruit of her travels and encounters with the inhabitants of the favela, Titanzinho, located just outside of the town of Fortaleza in Brazil, the home-town of her boyfriend, André Silva.

For many years now, Quiksilver has been adopting measures to ensure that its events have a limited impact on the environment, in line with the company's commitments across all levels of its operation.

Surfing, Art, and Music…. provide the potency for Roxy's cocktail delivered each summer in Biarritz since 2006 from July 10 to 14.

Each summer, Roxy Jam Biarritz assembles an attractive musical line-up featuring today's most in vogue female artists and up-and-coming talents.

Several workshops linked to the environment protection will be held for kids every day during the Roxy Jam.

In 2007, Michaela completed her childhood dream in becoming Micky Green; she recorded her first album in France, White T-Shirt. Self-authored and produced by Renaud Letang (Manu Chao, Feist…), the lo-fi and minimalist pop of White T-Shirt discovers the seductive side of the shabby chic world. Her childhood dream has since become a reality.

It's the story of four high-school girlfriends living in Paris who shared the same affinity for 70's music and together, decided to form a band.

SKELETON SEA

José Parinnha (Portuguese artist), Xandi Kreuzeder (a German photographer and sculptor) and Luis de Dios (a Spanish painter), keen on sport in their youth; have been turning towards art with time.

Born in 1971 in France, and artist for 20 years, Thomas paints under impulsion, transported by music. On the canvas, the emotions come out. Emotions of love and of life, in their purest and most simply forms.

Jérome Walter, a local artist from la Côte Basque, will present you the driftwood with perfection.

As usual, the Roxy Jam ART tent offers workshops for teenagers and adults willing to develop their artistic sense nearby artists from the board culture such as Carole Bielicki, Thomas Guichard, Gesa Ronge…

Ever since the Roxy Jam was created, Roxy has purposefully chosen to mix sport with the environment, its influences and its lifestyle. More than any other sport, surfing and especially longboarding, is the medium of a culturally rich universe.

Jennifer Smith (California, USA), 23, won the Roxy Jam in Biarritz to claim the second ASP Women's World Longboard title of her brilliant career after defeating fellow finalist and outsider Coline Menard (Reunion Island, FRA), 21, in the final exchange of the 2009 edition.

The Roxy Charity Shop serves as a gallery of surfing paraphernalia and an authentic surf shop, where collectors and novices can get their boards, items, even ‘relics' of champions which have been donated by pros, sponsors, friends of the Roxy brand, or collected from employees and other departments of Quiksilver.

On this unique occasion, we have invited these young, hip musicians to perform atthe Roxy Jam. La Femme are originally from Biarritz and are now based in Paris.
