The beautiful Hawaiian Kelia Moniz grew up in Oahu, part of a family of surfers with a mixture of Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese and Irish heritage! With her father, a former pro, and her four brothers, Kelia, nicknamed "Sister", has always surfed with the boys and is completely fearless. Whilst she handles both large and small boards with ease, it's when she steps onto a longboard that her innate talents really spring to life. With her naturally graceful style, Kelia is one of those surfers most at home on the nose of the board. A real specialist when it comes to the hang ten (the emblematic longboard position, standing on the very front of the board) and the cheetah five (standing on one leg at the very front of the board), Kelia is a prodigy who blends style and radical moves with exceptional talent. Her achievements include second place fi nishes at the Roxy Jam Honolulu (ASP WLT) in 07 and 08.
